In the heart of Pennsylvania’s capital city, on the banks of the Susquehanna River, Tattoo Punks: The Fest delivered its high-energy Night Two on Saturday, transforming Capital City Music Hall into a vibrant celebration of tattoo culture and punk rock.

Tattooing began at 11 AM with dozens of artists from across the globe — including talents from New York, California, Borneo, Colombia, and Brazil — offering styles ranging from hand-tapped and Japanese to American traditional and contemporary. Attendees enjoyed walk-up flash options or pre-booked sessions in a lively multi-level setup. Cash was preferred, and standard health protocols applied.

The event, the inaugural edition of Tattoo Punks: The Fest, embodies a true “by Tattoo Punks, for Tattoo Punks” ethos — a family reunion blending live tattooing with independent vendors selling records, apparel, books, tintype photography, and more. The atmosphere mixed the buzz of machines, fresh ink, and community energy.

As evening hit, the focus shifted to the 7 PM gig downstairs. Headliners The Stitches, Ravagers, Bullshit Detector TX, The Slads, and Bad To Worse delivered high-octane punk and hardcore performances that energized the crowd. Gig tickets provided full access to the tattoo floor, creating seamless flow between art and music.

This weekend event builds on Tattoo Punks’ decade-plus legacy. Friday marked the 11th anniversary with a kickoff celebrating International Tattoo Punks Day, while Sunday continues with more tattooing (11 AM–8 PM) and performances. The limited-capacity format sold strongly, highlighting demand for authentic, grassroots experiences.

Tattoo Punks: The Fest excels through its inclusivity and DIY spirit. Artists and bands rooted in the culture collaborate in one space, creating genuine connections uncommon at larger commercial conventions. One attendee called it “a space where your ink tells your story, and the music amplifies it.”

The fest not only spotlights world-class talent but reaffirms tattooing’s power as a vehicle for self-expression and rebellion. In Harrisburg — a city experiencing this scale for the first time — it has already made a lasting impression.
